The QOLT evaluation instruments are designed to help support and identify exemplary practices for the design and delivery of hybrid and online courses. Each instrument is composed of 54 items across 9 sections. There is a formative rubric score given at the end of each section, as well as a summative score and rubric at the end of the survey.
The formal CSU QOLT recognition program is currently open for the 2013-2014 academic year. The following surveys will be open until the current round of the QOLT program closes on January 24, 2014.
Quality Online Learning and Teaching (QOLT) Course Assessment - Instructor Self-Rating: This evaluation instrument is to be used by instructors evaluating their own course. The process will take at least 1 hour, as it is intended to be a reflective examination of your course, not a simple survey of opinions. You will want to have your course and survey open in separate browser windows to best complete the process. If, for some reason, you cannot complete the evaluation in one session, you can save your progress and re-enter the survey at a later date.
Quality Online Learning and Teaching (QOLT) Course Assessment - Peer-Rating: This evaluation instrument is used by a colleague of the instructor (e.g., department colleague, campus instructional designer) to evaluate the course that is the subject of evaluation.
Quality Online Learning and Teaching (QOLT) Course Assessment - Student Rating: This evaluation instrument is used by students to evaluate the course of their respective instructor. Students are able to print or save a confirmation they can submit to their instructor. The student ratings are anonymous and the confirmation does not include any data submitted by the student, just completion confirmation.
